Nortrhop acquired the 12 ft winspan low acoustic UAV from Swift Engineering in 2009 and completing its test flights in preparation to be deployed in the active arena. The BAT is able to takeoff and land independent of runways and hover over 24hrs on location. These BATS will deployed in irregular warfare situations most likely by Marine personnel. Jet-Tek is excited to be involved in the continuing and R&D and manufacturing stages of this program. We distribute many of the aircraft fasteners and Hi-Lok fasteners involved in the development of these revolutionary vehicles.

Aurora Flight Services has completed the test wing section for the Vulture Program. The wing spans 22 feet and is made advanced composites and light weight adhesives. The top of the wing is covered in solar cells to help power the prototype Vulture aircraft.

When combined with Boeing’s commitment to carbon fiber structures, Auroras new manufacturing techniques reveals the type of future demand for aircraft fasteners. Hi-Lok fasteners have always delivered a significant tensile strength for their weight but this new revolution may even threaten their market dominance.
